Inca Burger


The quinoa, a grain cultivated for thousands of years in the Andean region, which is recognized as a "super food" because it is rich of protein, essential amino acids and iron, is the main ingredient of this tasty and nutritious burger.

Serves: About 4 big units

Difficulty: Intermediate

Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

1/2 cup quinoa grain

2 cups water for cooking the quinoa

1 chopped red onion

1 small bunch of chopped chives

1 c.s. sunflower oil

1 chopped tomatoes

1 teaspoon salt (or more if necessary)

1/4 cup whole wheat flour

Directions

Cook the quinoa with 2 cups of water until the water dry and it gets soft.

In another pan, saute the onion in oil. When it is soft, add the chives and tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes.

Turn off the fire and mix all the ingredients. Add more salt and flour if necessary. Shape the hamburgers.

Bake in moderate temperature for about 20 minutes or more.

Ayurveda

It pacifies the three doshas.

Suggested combinations:

- Kapha: eat in small quantities with vegetables with hot spices

- Pitta: eat with fresh salads

- Vata: add a sauce or serve with mashed vegetables.
