Homemade tomato sauce is healthier and tastier than industrialized sauce. You should try!

 

Homemade Tomato Sauce Recipe

 

Yield: approximately 500ml
Easy
Time: 50 minutes

 

Ingredients

 

1 kg of mature tomatoes
1 large onion
Water (only the necessary)
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste
Herbs such as basil, thyme and oregano to taste

 

Directions

 

  1. Wash the tomatoes and cut in half;

  2. Peel the onion and cut into 4;

  3. Blend the tomatoes and the onion in a blender with some water, just enough, until becoming a homogeneous cream;

  4. Sift with a spoon. Cook over medium temperature until it gets the texture you like. My sauce took 45 minutes;

  5. Finish with salt, sugar (to reduce acidity - I used 2 tablespoons) and herbs.
