Homemade Tomato Sauce Recipe
Yield: approximately 500ml
Time: 50 minutes
1 kg of mature tomatoes
1 large onion
Water (only the necessary)
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste
Herbs such as basil, thyme and oregano to taste
Wash the tomatoes and cut in half;
Peel the onion and cut into 4;
Blend the tomatoes and the onion in a blender with some water, just enough, until becoming a homogeneous cream;
Sift with a spoon. Cook over medium temperature until it gets the texture you like. My sauce took 45 minutes;
Finish with salt, sugar (to reduce acidity - I used 2 tablespoons) and herbs.
